EXCLUSIVE Nutrition Tips for Parents: Sprinkle Those Seeds!

Seeds are good for growing plants and children!
Looking to add more nutrients to your child’s diet? Want to have them get involved in the food preparation process?
Than Perezitos‘s nutrition expert Margaux J. Rathbun says it’s time to start sprinkling seeds!
Margaux says:

“Adding seeds to your child’s food (or even munching on them plain) is a great way to load up on health-promoting nutrients. Sunflower seeds are excellent for promoting digestive health due to their content of soluble fiber. They are also full of vitamin E, vitamin B1, manganese, and selenium.
Chia seeds are also a great source of fiber in addition to their brain power boosting omega-3 fatty acids and immune-boosting antioxidants. Chia seeds also contain good amounts of calcium, magnesium, and potassium. Sesame seeds are high in zinc and selenium. Some of the other nutrients found in sesame seeds include iron, vitamin B1, digestive-health-supporting dietary fiber, and sleep-promoting tryptophan. Pumpkin seeds help wound healing and are also a good source of protein, zinc, and iron.
Have your child pick out their favorite seeds and start sprinkling them on your meals today! Sprinkle, sprinkle!”

Mmmmm! We love eating seeds as snacks!
Remember, a little bit of seasoning goes a LONG way to get kids eating healthy.
