Facebook Teams Up With Time Warner For New Anti-Bullying App!

Good! Definitely a step in the right direction.

We are VERY pleased to announce that Facebook and Time Warner have teamed up for a new anti-bullying application, called The Stop Bullying: Speak Up Social Pledge App.

The goal of the app is to enable “educators, parents and teachers to commit to end bullying by signing an online pledge and recruiting others to join them.”

Publications/networks that will promote the app include TIME, Sports Illustrated, Cartoon Network, and CNN.

Celebs who have already signed the pledge include Selena Gomez and Enrique Iglesias.

Here’s what Facebook’s VP of global public policy Marne Levine had to say about the app in a press release:

“The app is rooted in the fact that students, educators and parents have the power to stop bullying by speaking up when they see it occur. The launch of this campaign reinforces our deep commitment to the safety and security of kids everywhere.”

This is so wonderful AND necessary. We truly need to be doing everything we can to fight against bullying at schools right now.

Thanks for making this happen, Facebook and Time Warner!
