facebook catfish marissa williams in jail plot to kill family 1
This sounds like a crazy case of catfishing gone wrong!
According to court documents, Marissa Williams, a 19-year-old girl living with her aunt, was arrested on account of solicitation of murder.
Um, what?
Apparently the teen and her aunt had a strained relationship since her aunt asked Marissa to stop inviting strangers she met online into their home and prohibited her from going to parties with them.
Marissa’s response to all of that? Blocking her aunt on Facebook so she wouldn’t be able to monitor the teenager’s activity.
In deposition documents, Marissa’s aunt admitted to creating a fake Facebook profile under the persona of Tre ‘Topdog’ Ellis. She supposedly wanted to teach her niece a lesson in meeting strangers online, but thats when things took a super eery turn!
On the first day of their online friendship, Marissa immediately gave Tre her phone number and address, inviting him to come over and get drunk with her. She then proceeded to offer him sex if he paid for her $50 dollar phone bill.
Insane, right?! Wait for it, because it definitely gets weirder.
Just days after their initial meeting, Marissa allegedly told the fictional man her family made her angry and she was looking to leave Alabama as soon as possible. She then allegedly asked Tre to kidnap her and to shoot her aunt if she tried to stop him.
As time passed, her strategy grew to be more threatening, causing her aunt to be worried for her safety.
She called the Tuscaloosa County Sheriff’s Office for help after she found out Marissa was asking Tre (who was really her aunt this whole time) to kill her whole family while she packed her belongings in his car.
When the police came and interviewed the 19-year-old, she ‘fessed up to the plot but only to say she was sorry and didn’t really want anyone to be murdered.
Needless to say, Marissa was arrested on the spot and remains in jail with a $30,000 bond.
We are at a loss for words.
