Father Killed In Road Rage Shooting -- While Driving To See His Wife And Newborn Son In Hospital

no title
A father-of-two was shot to death in his car while driving to visit his wife and their newborn son in the hospital.
On Monday, Dennis Sloboda was traveling to the Washington hospital around 9 p.m. when he accidentally cut someone off.
According to his brother Anton, Dennis feared for his safety when the cars came to a stop sign or light, and “the other guy pulled out a gun.”

Dennis reportedly fled the scene but was followed to his brother’s apartment. After the 33-year-old looked out the window and saw the gunman outside, he asked Anton if he had a gun.
Speaking to The Seattle Times, Anton said:

“I looked and I could see the guy he was talking about, but he left when he saw me.”

Thinking it was “ridiculous” that a road rage incident could turn so threatening, the younger brother urged Dennis to stay for a while, assuming the other man would give up and go away.
After the siblings ate and watched a movie, Dennis left at about 10 p.m. to head to the hospital, where his wife had given birth to a boy just a few days earlier.

But when the 30-year-old called his sister-in-law at the hospital at about 1 a.m., he learned that Dennis never showed up. He continued:

“She looked at the (GPS) on his cellphone and saw that he looked like he was in the street. I went down there, but the police would not let me get close. They said I had to go to talk to the detectives.”

Anton arrived at the scene to find his brother had been shot in the head through the back of his car. Officials say shots were reported at 10:30 p.m., and the victim was found about a five-minute drive from his brother’s home.
Police spokeswoman Cathy Schrock confirmed that Dennis was involved in “some type of road-rage incident that began in northeast Tacoma while he drove into Federal Way. The exact circumstances are still under investigation.”
Sloboda’s family has set up a GoFundMe page to help with expenses. Our hearts go out to the victim’s wife, children, and the rest of his loved ones dealing with this tragedy.
