The Monarto Zoo got a pleasant and MUCH needed surprise when a FEMALE baby calf was born October 2.
The regional rhino population is dwindling, with only 20,000 left in the wild and a baby girl is just what the rhinos need.
The calf’s parents, Uhura and Satara, have two sons as well as so we KNOW they’re proven as a mama and daddy team!
For a species that suffers heavily against poaching, these future mama is great news!
Congrats on the new baby rhino, Monarto Zoo!
