Fergie is making her split from Josh Duhamel official…
According to TMZ, on Friday in Pasadena, the Fergalicious singer filed for divorce from the actor, almost two years after they publicly announced their separation in September 2017.

The former couple share 5-year-old son, Axl.
At the time, the musician and the thespian released the following joint statement:
“With absolute love and respect we decided to separate as a couple earlier this year. To give our family the best opportunity to adjust, we wanted to keep this a private matter before sharing it with the public. We are and will always be united in our support of each other and our family.”
Per a People source, the pair’s inherent differences reportedly played a “big factor” in their breakup. The insider noted:
“People close to them won’t be surprised that this ended…A big factor is how different Fergie and Josh are. In the beginning, it was what attracted them to each other and made them so fun to be around.”
Although the hitmaker is “fun and outgoing” and the hunk is “charming and relaxed,” the two’s different backgrounds made things difficult down the line. The source continued:
“But they come from totally different backgrounds and they wanted different things… [Their lives] were heading in two separate directions and [they] are often apart because of work.”
“Josh is low-key and laid back. Fergie is more high maintenance and very focused on her career. He definitely wants more kids and has always wanted to be a family man.”
During an October 2017 appearance on The Talk, Fergie revealed she was “as good as [she] can be with a separation” and was just happy to still have Josh in her life, explaining:
“The good thing is we don’t lose each other as parents… Everything basically is staying the same, except we’re not a romantic couple anymore.”
She added:
“I love Josh. We’re making it work. We’re both working full time right now. We are just making it happen. We’ve got Axl and we’re just working parents.”
In December 2018, Duhamel appeared on Dax Shepard‘s Armchair Expert podcast where he only had kind words for his ex. He revealed:
“Ferg and I had a great relationship. I love that girl and I always will. Unfortunately we didn’t work, but I will always have her back and she is the mother of my baby… She’s awesome. So I’m just trying to find somebody. That’s kind of what I’m looking for.”
In the interview, the 46-year-old also dished on what he wants in a baby momma:
“I want to have more kids in the next few years. So it’s more about finding someone young enough to have kids… It’s not as if I’m out there just trying to f**k anything, that’s really not who I am. I’m trying to find a girl that I can be with and have a family with, you know?”
