Why does this keep happening?
Fire Fighters in San Jose had to break into a locked car on Monday to rescue a baby after concerned shoppers alerted the fire department.
Apparently, the mother was running a quick errand and hadn’t even been gone ten minutes before emergency services were contacted.
But what makes it almost worse is that the mom brought her other child into the store with her!
Why would you know enough to take one kid with you, but leave the other one to sit out in the heat?
Even if you truly are just running a five minute errand, that’s enough time to seriously harm your child. The mother in this case could be facing charges of child neglect if she can’t prove that she really was only gone for a few minutes.
Also, since these cases are being heavily sensationalized in the news as of late, why would you risk being the latest example of poor parenting? It just doesn’t make any sense.
According to KTVU, the San Fransisco Bay Area FOX affiliate that reported the rescue, 26 children have died in hot, locked cars already this year, so it truly is a nationwide problem.
Simply bad decisions on all accounts.
