Only this time, this girl will be on Broadway!
Sergio Trujillo will direct and choreograph the musical with readings in NYC this winter.Tom Headley, who co-wrote the Flashdance film, will return as writer of the musical.
The musical will be a fully reworked version of FLASHDANCE in from West End in 2010 and new Flashdance will be released in Fall 2012.
Producer Thomas Viertel said the following on the deveolpment of the musical:
We felt we’d learned enough from the London production to re-work the show substantially and then perhaps take it out on tour, but then we did a table reading of the new script this fall and felt we had the makings of a solid Broadway show. It was a Lazarus-like moment.
