Aussies and Kiwis were both dismayed to hear that Fleetwood Mac had canceled the tours set up for their countries, but the band had a very good reason: bass player John McVie was diagnosed with cancer.
Amazingly, just three months later, they hit the stage to play a show at the MGM Grand Garden Arena on Dec. 30! They even followed that up with a private NYE concert… with another private show scheduled for Jan. 8! Busy busy!
Stevie Nicks told ABC Radio right before the NYE show that she thought performing would be “really good for John.”
Still, McVie, 68, has not talked about the diagnosis OR the type of cancer he has! The fast return to the stage seems like a good sign, though!
We hope everything is okay — or is going as well as it can be, John! You’ll get through this!
