A man from Jupiter, Florida was arrested for smoking marijuana in a hospital after his wife had just been admitted into the maternity ward to deliver birth to their child!
A nurse was the one who called the fuzz after she smelled a strong odor of marijuana in the infant delivery unit at Stuart, Florida’s Martin Medical Center.
When the cops arrived, they traced the smell back to David Bastin who was in the waiting room.
Here’s what the police report said:
“Officer Cernuto asked the defendant to make this simple and hand me the cannabis. The defendant reached in his right pocket and handed Officer Cernuto a black oblong device that the defendant called a vaporizer. Officer Cernuto opened the device and there was a green leafy substance that I know from my training and experience to be raw cannabis.”
We can totally sympathize with a nervous about-to-be dad trying to relax while his wife is in labor, but we guess he probably should’ve waited until he was out of the hospital!
His lack of discretion led to him being arrested at Martin County lockup on $1500 bond, and charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
We seriously doubt his baby momma enjoyed bailing him out of jail.
He’ll really need to toke up after that experience!!!
