Are they growing Girl Scout cookies, just wondering?
HA! JK! We all know that cookies are bad for you and gardening is all about creating your own delicious and super healthy fruits and veggies!
Yes, FLOTUS Michelle Obama marked the fourth annual spring planting by inviting children, including some very lucky Girl Scouts, to help plant veggies in the White House kitchen garden.
More than two dozen children rolled up their sleeves and used their green thumbs to plant carrots, onions, broccoli, swiss chard, cauliflower, lettuce, spinach, and kale.
They also sprinkled some seeds for dill, cilantro, and garlic.
Before getting down in the dirt, Michelle told the kids:
“It├óΓé¼Γäós fun to live here. It├óΓé¼Γäós fun, especially on a day like this because you guys are going to help us plant the garden, right? Yay! It├óΓé¼Γäós so exciting!
A lot of times when you grow your own vegetables and fruits, they taste really good. They taste better than a lot of stuff you├óΓé¼Γäóll get in a grocery store ├óΓé¼ΓÇ¥ trust me. My kids have done it. They├óΓé¼Γäóre not big fans of all vegetables, but if they help to work on it they├óΓé¼Γäóre much more excited about trying it out.”
Watch the gardening extravaganza (above)! It looks like so much fun!
