Which Action Star FINALLY Beat Robert Downey Jr. As The World's Highest Paid Actor??

Someone had to knock him down eventually!
Robert Downey Jr. has topped Forbes‘ highest-paid actor list for the past three years, mostly due to playing diverse roles like Tony Stark, Iron Man, and Tony Stark AKA Iron Man.

But it looks like another action star finally dethroned the 51-year-old as Hollywood’s biggest earner, and we ain’t talkin’ about Thor!
While RDJ still made the no. 8 spot on the list, pulling in $33 million between June 2015 and June 2016, that income is half as much as the year’s no. 1 spot, which was taken up by…

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson!
Everyone’s favorite WWE star pulled in $64.5 million over the past year, thanks to his roles in the Fast & Furious franchise, disaster film San Andreas, and his HBO series Ballers!
The Rock’s income is significantly more than this year’s top female earner Jennifer Lawrence — whose $46 million amounts to 72% of Johnson’s income, and would only place her sixth on the list of men.

Gender pay gap issues aside, Johnson’s Fast 8 costar Vin Diesel also made the list, landing the no. 7 spot with $35 mil — which we’re sure will only add more fuel to their promotional testosterone-driven feud.
Johnson responded to the news in an NSFW Instagram post, saying that this achievement will “serve as my anchoring reminder to continue to work even harder.” We hope he at leasts takes a well-deserved vacation first!
