MAJOR fashion faux pas!
On Thursday, WORD — a woman-owned branding agency — went on Instagram and accused Forever 21 of stealing their t-shirt design!
As seen (above, left), “The Creator Shirt” features the word “woman” in nine different languages to “represent our belief that feminism and human rights should be intersectional” and that “women from all races, cultures, religions, & economic backgrounds deserve access to safe medical care.”

According to the LA-based business’ website, 25% of the proceeds will be donated to Planned Parenthood.
Not only did the fast-fashion retailer allegedly copy their idea, their version (above, right) even left out the Swahili, Arabic, Hebrew, & Japanese languages! WORD wrote:
PLEASE SHARE: Hey @forever21, we’re not ones to point fingers but this looks mighty familiar. For the record, we created this shirt with a purpose. Too bad they removed the Swahili, Arabic, Hebrew & Japanese ├░┼╕╦£┬í├░┼╕╦£┬í├░┼╕╦£┬í├░┼╕╦£┬í #CreatorShirt #Forever21 DONATE ALL THE MONEY TO @plannedparenthoodA post shared by WORD (@word.agency) on Sep 14, 2017 at 5:08pm PDT
Music business exec Zoila Darton said she came up with the idea over a year ago, and produced the shirt with her husband this summer. She wrote on Facebook:
When word broke out, people on Twitter DRAGGED the store for its alleged plagiarism! See all the reactions (below)!
Ask me if I’m surprised that a garbage vendor like @Forever21 would steal someone else’s design & pass it off as their own. Fuck @Forever21. https://t.co/xri062H1Cn

It’s crazy how not only do they steal her idea, they literally sucked the culture out of it also. https://t.co/7uRjwJd1wu

Forever 21 deadass steals everything they sell, no originality. Their clothes represent the people who support it, bland and uncreative.

@Forever21=guilty, guilty, guilty. They need to remove all these shirts from their inventory & destroy them. Then make a huge donation to PP
