The United States’ 39th President has passed away.
It’s with heavy hearts we report that former POTUS Jimmy Carter passed away at a record-breaking 100 years old on Sunday. The Carter Center on X (Twitter) revealed in a post:
“Our founder, former U.S. President Jimmy Carter, passed away this afternoon in Plains, Georgia.”

His son James E. Carter also confirmed the news to the Washington Post, noting he was surrounded by family. Per CNN, preparations for a funeral have begun.

This comes nearly two years after the politician went into hospice and just over a year after his wife of 77 years Rosalynn Carter passed away.

He was a Nobel Peace Prize winner and the “longest-lived president in U.S. history,” according to The Carter Center.
Our hearts are with the Carter family at this time. Rest in peace.
