Former Secretary Of State Condoleezza Rice Is A Candidate For... An NFL Head Coach Job?!

Condoleezza Rice

This has a LOT of people talking today on social media…
Condoleezza Rice, most famous for serving as Secretary of State under George W. Bush‘s Presidency in the early 2000s, is reportedly up for a new job… as the head coach of the NFL‘s Cleveland Browns.

The story, first reported on Sunday morning by ESPN, held that the Browns’ front office was interested in bringing Condi in for an interview to replace recently-fired head coach Hue Jackson.
Reportedly, Rice is a HUGE Browns fan, and she does actually know a lot about football — she’s previously served on the NCAA Football Playoff Committee, for one — but a former Secretary of State (!) with no playing or coaching experience being touted as a possible NFL head coach?!
Crazy!!!
After ESPN broke the news, the Browns quickly tried to walk back the reports, with their general manager John Dorsey saying in a statement (below):

“Former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice is a great leader, possesses the highest possible character and also happens to be a Browns fan … Our coaching search will be thorough and deliberate, but we are still in the process of composing the list of candidates and Secretary Rice has not been discussed.”

Ok….
And for what it’s worth, Rice herself has finally weighed in on the report, too (below):

I love my Browns — and I know they will hire an experienced coach to take us to the next level. On a more serious…
