UPDATE: 7/25 11:31 a.m. EST — According to a CNN report, Sean Archilles, 14, and Ste’fan Strawder, 18, were the two young men killed in the shooting. Additionally, the number of injured has increased to 16, with two people remaining in critical condition.
This is just so upsetting.
Early Monday morning, it was confirmed that two people had died, with at least 14 others injured, following a shooting at Club Blu in Fort Myers, FL. To make matters worse, it’s said the incident took place as a teen event was just wrapping up. Oh no.

Reportedly, police officers responded to a call around 12:30 a.m. and upon their arrival they discovered “several victims suffering from gunshot wounds” in the Club Blu’s parking lot.
Currently, three people are being detained for questioning. Allegedly, one other person was shot outside their home which was five blocks away from the nightclub. The police are said to believe this shooting is related to the scene at Club Blu.
In a statement regarding the mass shooting, Captain Jim Mulligan shared:
“[At] this time, the scene is still very active as investigators and crime scene personnel attempt to determine what had occurred. The Police Department is attempting to determine a motive for this incident.”
As the No IDs Required event was meant for youths between the ages of 12 and 17, we shouldn’t be shocked to learn that some of the victims were as young as 12 years old. How tragic!
On the terrifying scene, the club noted on Facebook:
In regards to the victims, 16 people were supposedly taken to Lee Memorial Hospital. The injured parties’ ages are said to range between 12 to 27 years old. One male victim died upon arriving at the hospital, while another passed away at the scene of the crime.
