Breakfast is often touted as “the most important meal of the day”, but is the old adage actually true?
Dina from Texas is thinking of skipping out on breakfast to speed up her weight loss process and wrote FitPerez health correspondent Fran Drescher for advice, asking:
I’m trying to lose weight and be healthy. Do I really have to eat breakfast?
According to Fran:
Dina, so glad you are taking control of your body! If your mother hasn’t lectured you daily about the importance of breakfast, I’ll play that role. I am, after all, a Nanny!
Don’t skip meals. You want your metabolism to be working at a quick speed and when you deprive your body food, it slows it down. Eat healthy foods regularly, exercise and you will be well on your way. Have some organic fruit for breakfast or whole grains. YUM!
