French Court Won't Allow Parents To Name Their Kid 'Nutella!' What'd They Change The Name To??

no title
A poor little French baby had their name stripped from them by a French court in Valenciennes!
The problem is the baby’s parents named their kid “Nutella.”
The judge felt that naming your kid after a delicious spread isn’t a good idea. A translation of the court ruling reads:

“The name ‘Nutella’ given to the child is the trade name of a spread and it is contrary to the child’s interest to be wearing a name like that can only lead to teasing or disparaging thoughts.”

We understand how Nutella might be a name a kid gets made fun of for having, but it still feels weird that a court could strike down a child’s name!
The craziest part of all of this is the parents didn’t even show up to court!

Since the parents didn’t show up, the judge just renamed the baby “Ella” and that’s that. We guess those parents will get a letter in the mail informing them of their child’s involuntary name change.
We’re sure that’ll be inneresting as hell!
Though we also agree Ella is a waaaay better name than Nutella… LOLz!
