We let you guys know a little bit ago that Rep. Giffords, who was shot in the head during a tragic shooting spree in Arizona, would be undergoing a procedure soon to fill the hole cut into her skull to relieve pressure.
Well, we’re super happy to tell you guys that that surgery has happened, and that she is doing extremely well!
Such good news:
“She’s doing really well. Everything went as planned. Her neurosurgeons are very happy, she’s recuperating and she’s actually getting back to therapy today. So it went really, really well.”
They’re calling it a milestone marker in her road to recovery, as this kind of procedure doesn’t normally happen until the patient has been well enough to be released!
She recently was able to attend her husband’s shuttle launch. And recovery from the latest surgery shouldn’t take too long — most of it is getting over the anesthesia!
