And they’re solid!
Though it didn’t pull in anything near what Boardwalk Empire did on its premiere, HBO’s new show Game of Thrones debuted pretty well on Sunday. With its three initial airings combined, Game managed to wrangle in a total of 4.2 million, with half of that tuning in for the first viewing.
Not bad, not bad. Hopefully all those people come back to it next Sunday. Unlike Boardwalk Empire, it seems these numbers weren’t good enough to give them an instantaneous greenlight for season two, so they’ve got to work that much harder!

UPDATE: After just one episode, HBO has decided to renew Game of Thrones. The second season will likely debut sometime next year.
