You sure about this, George? Seems like a good time to be on Soderbergh’s side, with all the press surrounding Contagion!
Whatever the reason, George Clooney has decided to withdraw from Steven Soderbergh’s next movie, The Man From U.N.C.L.E.
Despite George’s mysterious exit, Warner Bros plans on starting production on the film in February 2012.
For those of you who are unfamiliar with the original show, U.N.C.L.E. was a 60’s spy drama that starred Robert Vaughn and David McCallum.
We’ll miss you, George! And hey, if Steven doesn’t end up retiring, maybe you guys can collab on another Ocean’s flick! Usually we wouldn’t want more sequels…but at least those have been consistently fun!

UPDATE: George Clooney had to exit the movie due to back problems, which stem from injuries he received while filming a violent torture scene in the 2005 political thriller/drama Syriana.
