Will George Stephanopoulos Be Replaced On GMA Because Of His ... Size?

There is that saying, “go big or go home”!

Here’s the sitch:

America loves them some George Stephanopoulos. The guy has his own Friends episode for crying out loud. But truth be told, even though ratings have been up for Good Morning America since Georgie came out, the suits are thinking its time for a change.

It is being speculated that Josh Elliot, the former ESPN sports anchor who has been the GMA news reader since March, could be getting pumped up to the anchor spot on GMA, while George could go back to his old job, anchoring This Week. The theory is that the execs think Josh has better “chemistry” with Robin Roberts and they want to get Christiane Amanpour out of Week in a hot second.

We understood the latter, but it took us by surprise to learn that the “chemistry” the report was referring too specifically pertained to the height of the anchors. Robin is 5’10” without heels. Josh is around 6’3″ … George is 5’6″ and a half. Apparently, having a shorter male anchor with a taller female anchor seems awkward to the suits.

Poor George! Jennifer Aniston should send him a pizza to make him feel better.

UPDATE: A rep reveals to us: “It├óΓé¼Γäós total nonsense.”
