WTF?! George Zimmerman Is Suing Trayvon Martin's Family For $100 Million!

George Zimmerman Trayvon Martin Family Lawsuit

George Zimmerman is back in the news again, and it’s every bit as controversial and unsettling as, well, pretty much every other time his name makes headlines

This time around, the Florida native is making waves because he’s filing a $100 million lawsuit — get this — against Trayvon Martin‘s family!!!

The suit, which is also against the prosecutors in his infamous trial and a book publisher, over what he claims is a pattern of defamation, conspiracy, and malicious prosecution.

As you no doubt remember, Zimmerman killed 17-year-old Martin on the night of February 26, 2012 in a neighborhood in Sanford, Florida. The teen, who was in the area visiting his father’s house, had been at the store buying candy and was returning home when Zimmerman, who had previously called the cops to report the boy as suspicious, confronted him.

The confrontation quickly turned physical, leading to Martin’s death, and Zimmerman was eventually tried in 2013 on charges of second-degree murder. As you remember, he was found not guilty by a jury of his peers, despite cops and prosecutors — and much of the general public — believing he’d gotten away with the unjustified stalking and killing of an innocent black teenager.

Now, nearly eight years after the incident itself, Zimmerman is coming after Martin’s parents over what he believes were purposeful lies at the trial. According to court docs, the controversial figure has accused the grieving family and state of Florida prosecutors of attempting to create a conspiracy that could have caused him to be found guilty.

Um, what?? Getting away with murder isn’t enough for some people…

In a key part of his lawsuit, Zimmerman alleges Trayvon was talking on the phone to a young woman named Brittany Diamond Eugene at the time of the altercation. At the trial in 2013, however, prosecutors had presented Rachel Jeantel as one of their key witnesses on the night, telling the jury that it was Jeantel who was the one on the phone with Trayvon. Now, Zimmerman wants answers as to why Eugene wasn’t the one put up on the witness stand… oh, and mostly he wants a LOT of money.

Zimmerman is also suing publisher Harper Collins and author Ben Crump over the recently-released book Open Season: Legalized Genocide of Colored People, which the embattled Florida man claims is defamatory and malicious.

No word yet on how he possibly believes the damages of NOT being found guilty or imprisoned is worth nine figures, or on whether he could actually win anything from anybody involved here. Guess we’ll see as it winds its way through court…

What do U think about hearing this news, Perezcious readers? We’ve BEEN ready for George Zimmerman to just go away forever, so nobody ever has to hear about him again. Sadly, it appears we still haven’t reached that goal yet. Sigh…
