Geri Jewell, best known for her role as Cousin Geri on The Facts of Life, will be releasing a memoir in April called I’m Walking As Straight As I Can: Transcending Disability in Hollywood and beyond.
In her book, Geri recounts her difficulty breaking into Hollywood with cerebral palsy, her pride in opening the doors for future generations of disabled actors and, for the first time, her admittance to being gay. It’s a one-of-a-kind story from someone who has seen it all in this business (and in life) in a very unique way.
Wow. We can’t even imagine the hardships she’s had to face. Thankfully, she’s come out the other side stronger, wiser and braver than most people will ever be. Definitely give this book a read!
