A model who has been missing for over a decade has resurfaced — but in the last place her parents ever expected or wanted to see her.
According to the German news outlet Der Spiegel, a 22-year-old woman named Michele disappeared from her mother’s home sometime in early September 2025. Her brother, Jonas, told the outlet that she grabbed a suitcase to go on a trip without saying where she was going or for how long, “but that was normal.” And he expected she would return in a week or two as usual. However, this time she didn’t.

A month passed, and the family grew concerned. They went to the police to report her missing, but law enforcement couldn’t do much because Michele was an adult and there had been no indication a crime had been committed. It didn’t matter that she hadn’t been in touch with her family for weeks, even though she always checked in while she was away. There was nothing they could or would do.
Der Spiegel reported the family went on to contact Michele’s friends, but they also heard nothing from her. Soon, 11 years had passed since she vanished without a trace, and they never found Michele. The family said they hoped she would show up again one day — and she did, just not in the way they anticipated.
Late last year, the US Department of Justice started releasing millions of documents from the Epstein files. A lot of names popped up in those docs, including Michele’s. Along with a man who allegedly played a role in Jeffrey Epstein‘s sex trafficking ring — Daniel Siad.
Michele’s mother, Annett, explained to Der Spiegel that her daughter moved to Dubai in 2012 after dropping out of school to pursue modeling. While at the restaurant Buddha-Bar that same year, she met Siad. The mom recalled her daughter told her:
“He said he worked as a model scout and was always on the lookout for pretty girls.”
Siad previously said in interviews his job as a modeling agent is to “discover” young women and refer them to agencies. And while that part is seemingly true as he reportedly had connections to top model agencies, including elite, he also had another gig – to allegedly connect these women to wealthy men like Epstein. In the files, Siad’s name appears nearly 2 thousand times as he was in contact with the disgraced financier starting in at least 2009. He allegedly often pitched women to Epstein, sending him pictures and measurements. And Michele sadly caught his eye…
Annett said Michele would tell her about trips to China, the United Kingdom and South America for modeling jobs and photo shoots, as well as the luxury hotels and expensive vacations. But when the mother asked for more details, her daughter would refuse:
“You would never get an answer out of her.”
A year later, Michele took Annett onto a yacht in Dubai where she met Siad. The mom remembered he was “open and friendly,” adding:
“He actually came across as legitimate.”
But at the same time, she had been suspicious over how her daughter knew so many wealthy people. Her dad, Vlado, eventually figured out what was going on. He recalled that he once overheard Michele on the phone with Siad and confronted her about him:
“Michele said she worked for him as an escort.”
Knowing what they know now, her mom thinks that “Siad set Michele up with rich people who took advantage of her.” And one of those people may have been Epstein. In February 2014, Siad sent photos of Michele to Epstein via email. A month later, he asked the convicted pedophile if he wanted to send a ticket for “Michele.” Siad promised Epstein that he knows Michele well, that she is “very cool,” and “you will love her.” In another email, he then described her as “the girl you missed from Germany.” And this happened all before Michele went missing…
The emails do not reveal whether Michele ever met Epstein in person. Two of his former assistants claimed to Der Spiegel that they never saw Michele. German police officials also noted she didn’t travel to the US when these emails were sent. Siad is currently under investigation in France on suspicion of helping Epstein traffic and abuse women. He has since denied any wrongdoing.
Hopefully, this family can get answers one day about what happened to Michele. Reactions, Perezcious readers? Let us know (below).
