Get Well Soon

Newly minted US Open champ and gazillionaire Tiger Woods is bowing out for the rest of the golf season cuz of that bum left knee.

An insider, speaking on the condition of anonymity to the Chicago Tribune, reports that Woods’ left knee will require more surgery. He had surgery to clean out cartilage April 15, but later suffered a stress fracture while preparing for his return to golf. That’s what caused his pain during the U.S. Open, which he won in a 19-hole playoff Monday over Rocco Mediate.

The report goes on to say that the upcoming surgery makes his Monday victory mind boggling — despite the stress fracture, he managed to win the U.S. Open that required 91 holes over five days.

The thought of one day of competitive golf with a bum knee sounds like hell!

Woods will miss a major championship for the first time in his career and will not be available for the Ryder Cup in September during this recovery period.

Get well, Tiger.
