Sexual misconduct in the film industry is getting the spotlight thrown on it like never before. And for some that means opening very old wounds.
Because sadly, this kind of victimization is nothing new.

The latest actress to reveal her story of sexual assault is film legend Gina Lollobrigida, star of ’50s classics The Hunchback Of Notre Dame and Solomon And Sheba.
The Italian sex symbol, now 90 years old, was on TV program in her native Italy on Wednesday when she was asked about the latest Hollywood scandals, with women voicing allegations against Harvey Weinstein and others.
That’s when La Lollo, once called the most beautiful woman in the world, revealed her own trauma:

“I’ve also suffered molestation, in fact more than that, and I didn’t say anything about it at the time. I should have complained but I didn’t have the courage.”

Gina didn’t identify the men who attacked her, but she did say there were two incidents, one in the industry and one before:

“The first time I was 19, I was still going to school. The second time, well I’d rather not talk about it. I was married and I was starting out in films.”

How awful! This problem has been going on so long and has affected so many women!
We can only hope all this coming to light will finally change things…
