Before Gisele Bündchen revealed her pregnancy news to the world, she broke it to her ex-husband privately.
We’re still floored at the news of Gisele’s pregnancy with her boyfriend Joaquim Valente, which we first reported back on Monday afternoon. With that, the 44-year-old supermodel is now expecting her third child — and her first with the jiu jitsu instructor. And all this just about two years after she first sparked dating rumors with the 35-year-old Brazilian man!
But obviously, baby bump aside, all the early focus has been on how Gisele’s ex Tom Brady would take the news — and on when he received it. Now, we know the answer to at least one of those questions.

According to DailyMail.com, Gisele actually shared the pregnancy announcement with the former NFL quarterback before she sent the news out into the world. That outlet reports that she wanted him to hear it from her first, and not from some media report that no doubt would have left him stunned and shocked.
Calling the pregnancy “unexpected,” an insider spoke to DM about the matter, too. They labeled Gisele as “happy” to start a family with Valente. And even though the duo was apparently not planning to have a child together, they are now even supposedly thinking that a wedding could be in the cards one day! Whoa! The insider said:
“Gisele and Joaquim were not planning to have a child together. This was unexpected. Joaquim has always wanted a family, so she is happy to be able to give this to him.”
Wow!
The insider was also quick to add details about Gisele’s optimism in knowing that Joaquim has a fatherly vibe within his personality, too:
“She knew that he would be a great father when her kids started taking classes with him. He is patient, playful and so understanding.”
Nice!
BTW, other reports are now coming out and confirming the news that Gisele tipped off Tom before the public announcement. TMZ also has a source who says Gisele told Tom — as well as the two children they share, 14-year-old son Benjamin and 11-year-old daughter Vivian — prior to revealing things to the world.
The DM insider went on about that, calling Benjamin and Vivian “absolutely thrilled” by the news:
“Gisele’s kids are absolutely thrilled by this. Joaquim has been a huge part of both of their lives since 2021 when she started including Jiu Jitsu as part of their homeschooling. They love him and look to him as a father figure. They are starting a family of their own now and a wedding is going to happen in the future.”
So, that’s all good. Wedding bells one day it is, then…
