Being 6’4″, Glee‘s Dot-Marie Jones knows a thing or two about bullying.
The actress experienced some hurtful words while growing up, which is why she’s lending her star power to promote a new children’s anti-bullying book, Just Like You.
Dot-Marie says:
“I grew really fast ├óΓé¼┬ª seven inches in six months. Kids would say comments like, ‘You’re so tall, you should have been a man. Are you a man? Are you a woman?’ It still strikes a nerve. Kids don’t realize how powerful words are.
It doesn’t matter what your differences are. You have to embrace what your likenesses are, and that we’re all just like you.”
Preach, sister! Great job on promoting a book with such a wonderful message. And to see the book trailer for Just Like You, click after the jump!
