Our hearts are just breaking.
On Tuesday evening, Gloria Estefan took to Instagram to sadly reveal that her mother, Gloria Fajardo, has passed away. She was 88 years old.

Alongside a sweet picture of her momma, the music legend penned an emotional tribute for Fajardo. She posted:
Unfortunately, this tragic update doesn’t come as a complete surprise as Miz Estefan has been updating fans about her mother’s wavering health for some time. In fact, just last week Gloria announced that she had to cancel her concert in Napa Valley, CA as her madre’s health had not improved.
And we’re sure fans far and wide are feeling this loss, as Estefan’s mother found internet fame later in life. Thanks to fun Instagram videos shared by granddaughter Emily Estefan, Gloria senior was able to flaunt her rapping skills and even took on the name, Rapuela. We’re not crying, you are. As always, our thoughts are with the Estefan family during this incredibly sad time.
