It seems the legendary Gloria Estefan may reprise her role as Santana’s (Naya Rivera) accepting, sacrificing mother Maribel Lopez in Glee season four!!
The Next star recently dished:
“I├óΓé¼Γäóm totally up for it, are you kidding me? I had a blast! I├óΓé¼Γäóm a big gleek myself and it was such a thrill to play Santana├óΓé¼Γäós mom… I would love to sing with Naya. That would be my number one.”
THIS WOULD BE EVERYTHING!! Gleeks unfortunately didn’t get an ear-tickling number from Gloria last season, and hearing her powerhouse vocals paired with Naya’s soulful, edgy voice would be absolutely dreamy!
But what storyline would Gloria’s character fit in to?
Gloria shares:
“I would love to close that circle that we left open with Santana├óΓé¼Γäós grandma. I know in my family I would never let that sit. If my mother were to talk like that to my daughter I would definitely want some kind of reunion or at least some resolutions out of that. I think that├óΓé¼Γäós a crazy thing to have left open so we├óΓé¼Γäóre hoping to do that in this new season.”
Yes! Perfection.
Santana had SUCH a close relationship with her Abuela until revealing her sexuality, and it would be so satisfying to have some sort of reconcilliation — at least, a meeting — between the two estranged family members.
