Good Burger Star Jan Schwieterman Dead At 52

Jan Schwieterman, best known for starring in the Nickelodeon film Good Burger, has passed away at 52.

According to his online obituary, the actor died at Mercy Hospital in Washington, Missouri, on February 28. His brother, Chad Schwieterman, revealed in a post on Facebook on March 1 that Jan had recently been diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. He wrote:

“It is with a heavy heart that I share the passing of my brother, Jan (JP) Schwieterman. He recently found out he had an aggressive form of stage 4 cancer and passed yesterday evening. Please keep our family in your thoughts and prayers as we navigate this difficult time. Rest in peace, brother. We love you and miss you.”

So sad. As you may know, Jan portrayed the villain Kurt Bozwell in Good Burger in 1997, which also starred Kenan Thompson and Kel Mitchell. He also appeared on shows like ER and Felicity and worked on the 1999 films Warlock III: The End of Innocence and American Intellectuals.

In 2000, he worked on Fallen Arches before taking a break from acting for seven years. He returned to the business in 2007 to star as Michael Braga in the film Along the Way. However, that was his final film.

Our hearts go out to everyone who knew and loved him. Rest in peace, Jan…
