There are very few things that could make tough guy chef Gordon Ramsay cry!
But… one of the biggest achievements for restaurant owners and chefs is the Michelin Star, which started off as a tire company’s guide to trippin’ through France. The three star system was a tool used by anonymous reviewers in 1926.
It’s now considered to be a HUGE accomplishment for chefs and retaurants owners and Gordon’s restaurant in NYC had TWO. That is, before the stars were stripped after “erratic” standards!
Mr. Ramsay was so upset about it, he revealed:
“I started crying when I lost my stars. It’s a very emotional thing for any chef. It’s like losing a girlfriend. You want her back.”
That’s so sad!
But, the good news is that his other restaurants worldwide have a total of 14 Michelin stars at the moment!
So yeah, it’s probably a bummer — but we bet he can get them back. Or at least steal some from the pile of stars he has elsewhere (they’re literal stars, right??).
LOLz!
Chin up, Gordon! Things are still going REALLY well for you!
