Despite Disney dropping the ball on The Lone Ranger film due to budget constraints, Gore Verbinski isn’t going down without a fight!
The director behind The Mexican, The Ring, Rango, and Pirates of the Caribbean 1-3 is ready to meet Disney’s demands by working vigorously toward an amicable goal.
The original budget proposal involved $250m, which would require an $800m box office score to make a profit.
Disney knows Johnny Depp is one of the world’s largest film gems, but they still didn’t think that meant he could wrangle in $800m in.
So what’s a Gore to do? He’s already trimmed fees by $10m in only a short, few days. If he can cut it by another $20-25m, then he might be able to make it happen.
We’ve got our fingers crossed!
