Blake Lively better learn the kazoo or something because she seems to be the only actor on Gossip Girl without an up-and-coming music career!
Now, Penn Badgley, who plays Dan Humphey on the show, is talking about his own musical aspirations. He admits that he “loves music” and writes his own material. But don’t expect to hear any of his sweet melodies quite yet; he is sticking to acting for the time being.
“I mean music is my first passion, but because of that I don’t really want to just take a first step in the wrong direction,” he says. “At the moment, I just want to be sensible about what I do. I just write and I play, and that’s all I need for myself right now.”
As for his Gossip comrades, Ed Westwick, Leighton Meester, and Taylor Momsen, though he hasn’t heard much of their material, he supports them none-the-less: “I wish them the best with it. I think it’s awesome that they’re doing that.”
Maybe there will be a musical episode of Gossip Girl next year.
That would be cheesy and brilliant!
