Aww! Poor puppy!
But at least he’s OK now!
A 3-year-old Great Dane had to be rushed to an emergency Animal Hospital in Portland because he was sick like the dog that he is, and he couldn’t throw up no matter how hard he tried!
Well, his owners were in for a BIG surprise after X-rays showed “a large quantity of foreign material” and the hospital’s vet Dr. Ashley Magee immediately brought the doggy into surgery.
The surprise however didn’t come until AFTER the surgery when it was revealed that the Great Dane was suffering because he had eaten 43-and-a-half socks!!!
A spokesperson for DoveLewis Emergency Animal Hospital said that the case was the “strangest” that the hospital had ever encountered, and they even submitted their surgery results to the magazine Veterinary Practice News for a contest, which they won a prize for, called “They Ate WHAT?”
However, they didn’t get first place! That honor belonged to a animal hospital in Texas that treated a frog who swallowed 30 tiny decorative rocks!
The most important news though is that the Great Dane is totally healthy these days, and we’re sure the pup’s owners won’t be letting him near any socks from now on!
For this Great Dane – that’s a risk they can’t afford to take!
