GOOD! Because we need all the answers we can get!
After Lexie Grey died a horrible death under a crashed airplane — right after she and McSteamy planned their lives together full of marriage and babies — we were all left with a jaw on the floor and a new note on our to-do list: get more Kleenex!
Somehow Shonda Rhimes had done it again. Despite the increasing lack of enthusiasm over the last couple of seasons, she reeled us back in.
AND THEN SLAPPED US!
Chyler Leigh‘s exit was NOT expected. And c’mon! How can you put her and McSteamy back together like that, fantasizing about their lives together and how they’re meant to be, AND THEN KILL HER MINUTES LATER!?!
Well. Here’s Chyler’s reasoning:
“Earlier this year, I made the decision that Season eight would be my last. I met with Shonda and we worked together to give Lexie├óΓé¼Γäós story appropriate closure. I am very lucky to have worked with this amazing cast and crew for five seasons. My experience is something that I will treasure for the rest of my life. I want to take this time to say thank you to the fans. Your unconditional love and support have made these last five years very special for me. I look forward to my next chapter and I hope you will continue to follow me on my journey.”
Chyler. Gurl. You’re killing us, here!
Sigh… Well we guess we wish the best for her. No, of course we do. Of course!
But srsly… this was one of the more excruciating season finales to date. And that’s really sayin’ something for that depressant delight of a show!
