Grimes' Mom Slams Elon Musk Over Ignorant 'Red Pill' Tweet After Daughter's 'Challenging' Childbirth

Eek! This isn’t the kind of drama you want to get into with your kid’s grandma, Elon Musk!

Grimes’ mother, Sandy Garossino, slammed the Telsa founder on Sunday for sharing an eyebrow-raising tweet just weeks after he and the singer welcomed their son, X Æ A-12. And to hear the Canadian journalist tell it, she seems PISSED at the tech entrepreneur for his contentious opinions and more!

It all started when the 48-year-old encouraged his followers to “take the red pill,” which is an infamous reference to a scene from The Matrix where the red pill reveals the truth while the blue pill allows one to live in blissful ignorance. However, the phrase has been politicized by right-wing groups and men’s rights activists, so, sharing that message (below) to his to 34.3 million followers is definitely questionable:

Like many of the engineer’s controversial musings, this one came right out of the blue! Garossino, a longtime columnist for Canada’s National Observer, was pretty ticked off Elon would share something like this in the wake of their fam’s baby news. Writing in a since-deleted tweet about his Men’s Rights Activist agenda, the protective momma shared:

“If your partner went through a challenging pregnancy and childbirth in the last two weeks, and you were over 16 years old, would you be blaring MRA bulls**t on Twitter right now?”

Oof. She does have a point! Canadian activist and political consultant Gerald Butts also commented on Musk’s “red pill” tweet, writing:

“Buddy has a 3 week old baby. Maybe step away from the broflakes.”

Make that not yet two weeks old. Jeez.

To which, Garossino clarified in another now-deleted tweet, adding:

“Not yet 2 weeks old.”

Grimes’ mom didn’t stop there! There’s clearly some bad blood brewing among the fam as she retweeted a message which suggested Musk should be arrested for attempting to reopen his Tesla factories in California amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Yikes!!

Earlier this month, a source told Us Weekly that Grimes and Musk “have experienced a lot of ups and downs in their relationship.” The two were supposed to be basking in that new baby bliss, but we can’t imagine this icky situation helped things along at all!

Elon’s tweet got also got picked up by the director of The Matrix herself, Lilly Wachowski, who had this to say after Ivanka Trump endorsed the idea:

Yeah, this wasn’t a good look for Elon! Maybe he should take a chill pill instead and focus on taking care of mommy and baby right now!
