30 Rock regular Grizzwald “Grizz” Chapman is in a need of a kidney transplant as he is suffering from severe hypertension.
The actor at 6’11” and 378 pounds requires dialysis treatment 3 times a week for his condition that has left him with only 5 percent function of his kidneys!
He’s on the waiting list for a kidney, but Grizz must lose more than 75 pounds to qualify for the surgery. The wait list is currently at least 5 years long! He says:
“A lot of this stuff is new to me. Opening up is something I have to learn how to do if I’m going to be in this business. At first I didn’t want to do it, but I felt that it would be a good situation for me to enlighten people to what’s going on.”
His fellow cast mate Kevin Brown, who also plays a member of Tracy Morgan‘s character’s entourage, is planning to lose weight along with his buddy to help him along saying, “He’s getting that transplant! I’ll lose the weight with him. For every 10 pounds he loses, I’ll lose one pound. That’s a deal!”
