Gucci has fired their in-house lawyer of seven years after finding out he wasn’t an active member of any state bar!
Don’t they do background checks?
Although the so called lawyer Jonathan Moss had graduated from Fordham University School of Law and passed the California state bar exam in 1993 he switched his status to inactive all the way back in 1996.
His excuse? It was less expensive to be inactive.
However, Jonathan isn’t completely to blame. Gucci originally hired Moss in 2002 for a non-lawyer position, but later promoted him to the in-house legal counsel in 2003.
Maybe they should also fire the idiot who promoted him.
