UPDATE 6:38 P.M. PST: Gwyneth speaks!
After the jury in her ski crash trial cleared the Royal Tenenbaums star and found Sanderson was “100%” in the wrong, Gwyneth took to her Instagram Stories to first explain why she chose to fight instead of just paying $300k — a relatively small amount for her:
“I felt that acquiescing to a false claim compromised my integrity.”
She also thanked the court for their ruling, saying:
“I am pleased with the outcome and I appreciate all of the hard work of Judge Holmberg and the jury, and thank them for their thoughtfulness in handling this case.”

After a short trial (that was a long time coming), the Oscar-winning actress has taken home the victory. The testimonies from this trial were particularly wild and unbelievable — on both ends — as she tried to claim Terry Sanderson, the 76-year-old retired optometrist suing her, was the one that crashed into her during the infamous Utah ski trip. Despite some unforgettable statements, the jury bought it! After careful consideration they sided with Gwyneth, awarding the 50-year-old the $1 she was asking for plus legal fees!
