Devastating news has left Gypsy Rose Blanchard and the family of Ken Urker in total shock.
On Thursday night it was reported Gypsy Rose’s partner Ken had died on his 34th birthday.
Per TMZ, deputies from the Lafourche Sheriff’s Offic responded to a call in Raceland, Louisiana shortly after 6 p.m. on Thursday. Ken was found dead at the scene. An investigation remains ongoing.
Gypsy Rose has spoken with People magazine, and she believes he passed from an overdose.
“I don’t know if it was intentional or not. He was not in a good state of mind lately.”
Gypsy Rose and Ken found love while she was in prison for her involvement in the murder of her mother. After watching the 2017 HBO documentary, Mommy Dead and Dearest, Ken wrote a letter to her. Their relationship grew from there.

During an October 2018 prison visit he proposed to her, and she said yes. In August 2019 they broke up, and she would later marry Ryan Anderson in a prison ceremony in July 2022. Ryan and Gypsy rose split in December 2023, after her release from prison, and in April 2024 she and Ken reconnected. By July of the same year they announced they were expecting a child together, Aurora Raina Urker, who would later be born on December 28, 2024.
The sudden death has left her in absolute “disbelief,” she tells People, sharing:
“I’ve screamed until my throat burns.”
Heartbreaking.
She honors him by sharing what an incredible dad he was, and she describes their love as one that will transcend time and space:
“Ken was an amazing father and a man who was deeply loved. He will forever be my soulmate and my red string, a connection that time, distance, and even death can never erase.”
Sending our sincere condolences to Gypsy Rose, Aurora, and all of Ken’s loved ones.
