Penguin Stranded 1,000 Miles From Home Dies In New Zealand

This is so sad!
A penguin made a trip of over 1,000 miles, leaving his native Antarctic home and swimming all the way to New Zealand!!
He was found on Tora beach, on the coast south of Wellington.
When the little guy, nicknamed Happy Feet Jr., was found, he was dehydrated, starving and suffering from kidney failure.
He was immediately taken to Wellington Zoo where he was treated.
Sadly, he did not survive because he was too far gone by the time he reached NZ’s sandy shores.
He died from what zoo keepers suspect was multiple organ failure.
The zoo did everything they could to save his life but it was just too late.
