Everyone continues to mourn the tragic loss of Liam Payne online.
On Wednesday, the 31-year-old singer died after jumping from the balcony of his room at the CasaSur Palermo Hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina. His sudden death shocked and broke the hearts of many around the world. Since then, fans and celebrities have flooded social media with tributes to Liam. But the latest emotional post? It’s coming from Anne Twist — the mother of his former One Direction band member Harry Styles.

Hours after the news of his untimely death broke, she took to Instagram to share a red broken heart emoji on a black background. Anne also wrote a truly heartbreaking and poignant three-word caption that read:

As you know, Anne spent some time with Liam after her son rose to fame on The X-Factor UK in 2010. He, Harry, Zayn Malik, Niall Horan, and Louis Tomlinson all auditioned for the show as solo artists, but the judges had them join forces to become One Direction. And the rest was history. They quickly became superstars, even though they placed third in the competition series. And they did it together — so this tragedy must be so hard on the guys and their families right now.
