According to the guy supposedly saving it, it has!
Broadway producer Michael Cohl is swooping in to save the superhero musical from fading out. It’s said that Bono himself went to Michael as a favor and asked him to do something. So he did!
Who says no to Bono?
The announcement of the change was made over the weekend, as well as the confirmation that relative unknown Reeve Carney will be cast in the lead role of Peter Parker/Spider-Man, along with Evan Rachel Wood and Alan Cummings.
There is no word as of yet of when the show, Spider-Man: Turn off the Dark, which is quickly going down in history as the most costly Broadway show ($50 million), will preview but Michael claims that he is “very close to having in place the financing that we need and getting everyone back to work on the musical”.
Will he make it for the Tony deadline in April or will his web have to wait until next awards season? Or will he crash and burn just like the last producer?!
