Maybe Kim Kardashian and Jennifer Lopez had the right idea all along.

According to a new study in the International Journal of Obesity, it’s ok to have some junk in that trunk. In fact it’s better than having fat stored around your stomach.

The Oxford University researchers found that your gluteofemoral fat or butt fat acts as a buffer and cleans up all those fats that aren’t healthy for you.

And compared to the fat stored around your stomach, you derriere baggage is harder to shift, making it produce fewer chemicals that contribute to heart disease, diabetes and obesity.

Guess that means a lot more ladies will be doing those sit ups and lunges.
