6 Healthy Sounding Foods That Really Aren't

At first glance, all of these food seem healthy. But after checking the nutritional info, sushi, yogurt, and smoothies can turn out to be diet-killers.
Check out these healthy-sounding culprits that can be loaded with calories.

Sushi rolls

Just thinking about sushi makes our mouths water, but moder sushi isn’t just fish and rice. Sushi can be fried, breaded, and topped with mayo. Stick to sushi that’s veggie or fish based, and stay away from most “special sauces” (they’re probably mayo-based).
Yogurt
Yogurt can be loaded with extra sugar and fat. There are plenty of low-fat, low-sugar yogurts that are super yummy. Always check the nutrition labels! Don’t just go by what it says on the front!
Smoothies
Smoothies can be bad news depending on what is put in them other than fruit. Always go for smoothies that don’t have any extra sugar added, and that are made with low-fat yogurt.
Salads
Salads are tricky. Lettuce is healthy. Salad dressing, bacon, and all of the other non-lettuce toppings that cover restaurant salads are not. Try ordering the dressing on the side, and stay away from salads with too much cheese or fatty meat.
Energy Bars
Energy bars can be good if you are training for a race or some other physically demanding activity, but for most normal people, energy bars are way too high in calories to be eaten as a snack. Either use it as a meal-replacement or skip it (or find those with fewer calories, such as Balance 100-calorie bar, Promax 70-calorie bar)
Granola
Granola sounds healthy, but a lot of times it ends up being the nutritional equivalent of a candy bar. Make sure to check the nutrition label for serving size — it├óΓé¼Γäós usually very small.
