An associate of Heavy D’s and law enforcement are shedding some more light on what exactly happened to Heavy D yesterday when the rapper suddenly passed away.
According to the cops, Heavy D was perfectly fine all morning, but when he returned to his place from shopping, he started having trouble breathing while climbing some stairs. Adam Mills, a designer and Heavy D’s neighbor in the building, found him gasping for air and leaning against a railing on the walkway. He immediately called 911 and cradled Heavy D in his lap while they waited for paramedics. Clearly in distress but still conscious, Heavy D just kept saying, “I can’t breathe, I can’t breathe.” After that, he was rushed to the hospital and passed away an hour later.
Some people in the hospital are claiming that he had a heart attack, but one associate of Heavy D’s told the press that the rapper actually suffered from pneumonia. Whatever the reason, its just so sad that someone that young, with so much left in him, would die so suddenly. It still makes us very sad.
