Henry Cavill Was Known As "Fat Cavill" Before He Was Called Man Of Steel

This is nearly impossible to believe!
The beyond hunky Henry Cavill, star of Man Of Steel, covered the June/July issue of Details and talked about the lifelong struggle with his weight.
When he was young, the actor was known as “Fat Cavill” at school and would call his mom on the phone crying. On the bright side though, he says this helped him with his Superman character. Cavill explained:

“My version of Superman is essentially of a guy who has spent his whole life alone.”

Sadsies!
Then one day when he was 17-years-old, he was cast in The Count Of Monte Cristo and lost 21 pounds for the part, and according to him, ├óΓé¼┼ôI wasn’t Fat Cavill anymore.├óΓé¼┬¥
Even though he’d dropped the weight, the Man Of Steel had to gain it back in muscle for his starring role. This required him to eat 5,000 calories a day and he’d workout at 3am so he’d look perfect in his suit.
The actor talked about how his weight has changed since wrapping the film and giving up his Tabata workouts, saying:

“I will say I was a lot bigger as Superman. A lot bigger. I’m not saying how much. It’s modesty about the weight├óΓé¼ΓÇ¥I’ve always been worried about my weight├óΓé¼ΓÇ¥but I also don’t want to invite that debate: Henry weighs this, so he’s the perfect Superman. Or, Henry doesn’t weigh this, and therefore he’s not believable in the role.”

We’re glad Cavill is not bullied anymore, but we wish he had more body confidence!
He certainly doesn’t need to worry about it, and if you disagree, then just take a peek at his spread from the mag (below)!
