High heels for babies??? Send in the infantry!
A company called Pee Wee Pumps is selling collapsible, plush high heeled shoes for infants aged 0-6 months, and people are seriously not happy.

The company’s Instagram and Facebook pages are flooded with comments that criticize the product, mainly because it is seen as sexualizing little girls.
Commenters wrote:
“High heels for babies?! In what world are we living?! Shame on you! Let the little and innocent kids be just kids!”

The product website describes the footwear as “photo props,” although we doubt anybody actually thought they were intended as anything else. It’s not like babies can walk!
There were plenty of commenters, however, who thought the shoes were “cute” and “adorable,” and seemed to show an interest in purchasing them. Hey, there are always people willing to buy any old thing!

Earlier this month, Pee Wee Pumps came under fire by a UK campaign group called Let Clothes Be Clothes, who advocate for “the end [of] the use of gender stereotypes in the design and marketing of children’s clothes.”
Are these harmless fun or totally inappropriate, Perezcious readers???
